The Vonn 19 Series
Book 1
The truth is, like, so inefficient…
In a perfectly optimized virtual world buried beneath the ruins of reality, everyone knows their role—especially Vonn 19, a thoroughly average digital citizen with a steady job, a decent amount of followers, and an efficient life of pleasure and entertainment. That is, until a mysterious woman saves him from an active shooter by pulling him into a dark tunnel, and he begins to realize that The Within is a techno-paradise built on lies and corruption. Suddenly exposed to the world of The Without, Vonn finds himself swept into a rebellion led by a cohort of disillusioned Withiners and embattled Withouters. As corporate enforcers close in and the simulation begins to crack, Vonn must decide if he's brave enough to be the vibeKill that no one asked for.
I’m new here – where do I start?
All previously released chapters of Kill Switch are available in the Table of Contents. I personally like reading books from the beginning and moving chronologically through the story, which is why I strongly recommend starting at Chapter 1 and then, after finishing this chapter, moving onto Chapter 2, Chapter 3, etc. However, if you’re one of those think-outside-the-box-march-to-the-sound-of-your-own-drum-machine-fight-the-power-countercultural-revolutionaries, you could always read the book backwards or even turn your device upside down or have a program translate the text into a language you don’t even know – like, say, Cornish or Klingon. This story is your oyster. Which is to say – salty, prone to producing feelings of nausea when consumed raw and on an empty stomach, irregularly-shaped, aphrodisiacal, and in possession of the occasional pearl.
Why Subscribe?

About the Author, Or: Who the Hell Is This Kyle Dunn Guy Anyway, and Are We Sure He’s Not a Bot, and Do You Happen to Have a Photo of Him in the Style of a Pop Art Portrait?
Kyle Dunn was born in Nashville, TN, to two human parents, toward the end of the Cold War. He is said to have attended high school somewhere, at some point in time, but sources close to the matter say they can neither confirm nor deny. Regardless, recently recovered documents suggest that he almost certainly infiltrated the literature departments of Belmont University and University of East Anglia, and received a Master’s Degree in English from Penn State. In 2015, he was awarded the James and Sara King Writing Award from Belmont University, and while teaching at Penn State, he also served on the Henry James Letters Project. The fact that such a malformed mind was able to achieve these honors is truly astonishing, and while his association with these institutions doubtless reflects poorly on their judgement, it is also yet another reason to believe that there is hope for even the most depraved and wretched among us.
After grad school, Dunn lived in Rennes, France, where he was able to procure a scant living as an English teacher, given that he exhibited a better grasp of his mother tongue than at least a quarter of France’s native population. Once sated with cheap wine and ennui, Dunn returned to his homeland, where he completed his first novel, The Lonely Americans, which he would later self-publish under the pen name William Atlas. The book sold very few copies and received mixed reviews, a fact that elated the author, because now he didn’t have to go through the hassle of quitting his day job or learning how to save money.
Kyle’s work has been published in the Belmont Literary Journal, and his latest novel, The Finer Things, which he co-wrote with New York Times Bestselling Badass J.D. Barker, is available to purchase here.
He currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wise and beautiful wife, Olivia, and their rowdy and beautiful sons, James and Cormac. For obvious reasons, the author prays every night that his sons take after their mother.
